Awards
VATIE recognizes outstanding contributions to Career & Technical Education through our annual awards program. Nominate deserving T&I educators by June 15th.
James R. “Jim” Bushong Teacher of the Year Award
This award is based upon outstanding contributions as a classroom/lab Trade and Industrial education teacher. Nominees must be actively teaching in a Trade and Industrial education area. Nominees should show evidence in teaching as well as contribution in the field at all levels. Local and state involvements are primary considerations. Must be a VATIE member for 5 years and teach at a secondary level.
Dr. R. Lee Ross Outstanding Career & Technical Educator Award
This award is based upon outstanding service to the field of Trade and Industrial education. Such service may be of any type or at any level. Nominees may represent education, government, industry and/or any other field where contributions to Trade and Industrial education are evident. Classroom teachers are not eligible for this award. Nominees must show evidence of significant involvement at Local, State, and/or National levels.
VATIE Outstanding New Career & Technical Educator Award
This award is based upon outstanding contributions as a new Trade and Industrial education teacher. Nominees must be a full time, active teacher in a Trade and Industrial education area that has taught at the secondary level a minimum of three years but not more than five years and must be a VATIE member for three years.
